12/20 - Congratulations to SLC's Whiz Quiz team who defeated IHC by a score of 455 - 245. They are the Whiz Quiz Champions. The team of Mia Snyder, Logan Watch-Fuller, John Snyder, Emily Taylor and Dylan Bissonette emerged victorious from a single elimination tournament that included schools from Jerferson, Lewis and St Lawrence Counties.

12/17 - They did it! SLC's Whiz Quiz team has defeated Lafargeville 185 - 115 in the Whiz Quiz Semi-finals. Dylan, Emily, John and Logan will now face Immaculate Heart Central of Watertown for the chance to become Whiz Quiz champions of the North Country. The special hour-long match will be played Friday at 7:00 on PBS (channel 12). You can also watch all the matches by going to WPBS.org.

Congratulations to SLC Whiz Quiz Team members Dylan Bissonette, John Dean Snyder, Logan Wultsch-Fuller, and Emily Taylor on winning the Whiz Quiz Championship! They earned the coveted title of 2021 Whiz Quiz Champions and the honor to take home the Glenn Gough Trophy! A scholarship of $1500 will be awarded to the school for their victory!

Clarkson University will be offering classes for academic enrichment for students in grades 9-12 through the Project Challenge Program starting on January 15. The program runs on Saturdays for five consecutive weekends. This year Project Challenge is offering the following classes:
1. Gaming the System: Experiencing Politics through Games and Simulations
2. Innovation in Industry: How to Bring a Product to Market
3. Show Me the Money – Personal Finance for Teens
4. Storytelling through Data
5. Wonders of the Brain
6. Contemporary Social Issues
7. Psychology: More than Reading Minds and Lying on Couches
8. Python Programming Crash Course
9. The Monsters Inside of Us
Spaces in the various programs are limited so interested students should see their counselor before winter break if they are interested in registering for a class. Classes will be hosted on the Clarkson University campus and interested students would need to provide their own transportation. Course descriptions are available in the guidance office.
