The 2024 Hall of Fame ceremony will be this Saturday, September 28th. All inductees are invited to join us at the home football game, which will also be Senior Day, to be introduced at halftime. Then the high school will open at 4:30 pm for the public and inductees to mingle in our HOF area and to have pictures taken. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 pm in the High School auditorium. There will be a gathering afterwards at The American Legion Post 514 in Winthrop. The 2024 Inductees are as follows: Ron Kocsis, Ben LaBaff, Quinn Patraw, Brady Helmer, Charlie Dullea, Ray LaPrade Jr., Lindsay Thayer, 2012-2013 Hockey Team, and the 2012-2013 Boys Basketball Team. Congratulations to everyone!

Don't forget, tomorrow is picture day at SLC Elementary!

Good morning Larries!
Please be sure to join us this evening, from 5:00 to 6:30 for Open House! Meet your child's teacher and see where they spend their time during the school day. Please be mindful that this is not the time to have private conversations with the teacher about your child's progress, as there will be other students and families in and out of the classroom. Our first quarter parent- teacher conferences will be held on Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, November 26. This will be a great opportunity to have more in depth conversations with your child's teacher. Of course, if you have concerns before then, please reach out to your child's teacher directly, at any time.
Tonight Mrs. Hahn will be available to provide support for families who still need to connect to Rooms, or may have questions about the app. The PTO has a table set up in the lobby. This is a wonderful organization that supports the children of our community in many ways. Please consider volunteering with them. Any way you are able to help is greatly appreciated! They will also have the Scholastic Book Fair set up in our cafeteria, so be sure to check out the book selection! Our school counselors, Ms. White an Mrs. McFarland, will have our costume closet open for those who would like to look for their perfect Halloween costume! This will also be located in the cafeteria. While you are in the cafeteria, please be sure to check out some helpful resources that Mrs. McFarland will have available.
Lastly, I would like to thank our PTO for the lovely fall decorations out front of our school. We look forward to seeing you this evening!
Respectfully,
Mrs. Colterman

Hi SLC families,
We have had a great start to the school year! One area we are struggling with is communication through our new Rooms feature on our BFCSD app. All elementary students will be bringing home a paper with more information on how to join their teacher's Room on the app. If you continue to struggle with joining, you can reach out to Vanessa Hahn by calling the school (315-389-5131) or emailing her (vhahn@bfcsd.org). Mrs. Dishaw may be able to help in the elementary office as well.
We appreciate your patience as we work through our shared frustration with this transition. Change is hard but once we get everyone connected, we are hopeful this will facilitate more communication between home and school.
Enjoy your weekend!
Mrs. Colterman

Mrs. Dishaw's email address is wdishaw@bfcsd.org. Please send any information on your dismissal plans to her. Thank you!

Thanks to all for a great first day!
I want to share a couple of reminders to ensure a safe arrival and dismissal.
ARRIVAL - If you are dropping your child off, please do not get out of your vehicle. We ask that you pull up to the drop off location, allow your child to to get out of the vehicle, and then you pull away, so others are able to do the same and we can keep traffic flowing.
DISMISSAL - Please be sure to send Mrs. Dishaw a hand-written note or an email (ldishaw@bfcsd.org) if your child will be a permanent parent pick up (daily). Also, if your child is normally a bus rider but you need to pick them up on any given day, we ask that you at least call Mrs. Dishaw so we can be prepared and have your child in the appropriate place at dismissal time so your pick up isn't delayed while we retrieve them from a bus. Please be sure to notify us prior to 2:30. Also, please be sure that you or any other person picking your child up must have photo ID. We will not let your child go with anyone other than guardians or emergency contacts, unless we have written notification from a guardian.
We appreciate your patience as we settle into our new routines for this school year.

Please be aware that buses left about 20 minutes late today, so your child may be a little late arriving home from school.

Reminder: Back to School Night is tonight, September 3rd from 4:30-6:00 pm in the Middle School Gym! We have a lot of fun and informative things planned for parents and students. Please plan to join us!
