As a reminder, today we will be holding our mandated Evacuation Crisis Drill at dismissal. All elementary staff and students will participate in the evacuation drill, which will begin with a fire drill. We appreciate your patience and understanding with these drills, as they help staff and students better prepare for emergency situations.

Parent Pick-Ups:
We discourage parent pickups on this day because we feel that participation in these drills is important. We may need to use an evacuation for many reasons, including building emergencies or even weather. If your child is a regular parent pick-up or needs to be picked up for an afternoon appointment, you are asked to pick up your child before 1:00. You will need to sign out your child at the Elementary Office. Also, if your child is a regular parent pick up, but will be staying for the drill, please send message or email (in writing) to let us know where they should be going on the bus so we can be sure they have the necessary bus pass.

Please note, we will be dismissing busses at our regular dismissal time.

As a reminder, please do not get out of your vehicle during parent pick up, unless your child is unable to open the car door or buckle themselves. If this is the case, and your child needs help buckling their seatbelt, we ask that you be respectful to those behind you in line and try to do so quickly. We appreciate your help in ensuring a safe and efficient parent pick up.

Please be sure to notify the office if your child typically rides the bus and they will be a parent pick up. This will ensure they are where they need to be at dismissal time so we can get them out to you in a timely manner.

Thanks for your cooperation with parent pick up procedures.

Good afternoon, We held our first fire drills of the school year today. Unfortunately, the fire department was mistakenly toned out. There is no emergency and it was just a drill.

We had a great first day! Buses just left, about 20 minutes later than our usual time. If you child is going to be a parent pick up on a daily basis, it is important that you let Mrs. Dishaw know, so we can be sure they are in the appropriate place at dismissal time. Also, if your child is a regular bus rider and you need to pick them up on any given day, we ask that you communicate this to Mrs. Dishaw as well, as early as possible. Surprise changes slow our dismissal down for everyone so we appreciate your cooperation with this. See everyone tomorrow!

Carrying too much weight in a backpack or wearing it the wrong way can lead to pain and strain.  Parents can take steps to help children load and wear backpacks the correct way to avoid health problems.
