As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 situation, we are focused on three main areas:
- Student Safety & Health
- Student Food
- Student Education
Yesterday I released an update that focused upon meals and distribution centers. Please see our website or facebook page for that information. Today’s focus is on part of the instructional piece, technology.
It is our goal to have every student with a learning device. We plan to distribute a chromebook to any child that is in need of a learning device. We will be distributing from the bus garage as to maintain social distancing to prevent the spread of the virus. This is purely a safety precaution. Please see the schedule for pick up times:
Thursday March 19th from 12:00 - 6:00pm - Elementary & Middle School
Names beginning: A-H 12:00 - 1:30 PM
I-P 1:30 - 3:00 PM
Q-Z 3:00 - 4:30 PM
Anyone who could not come at the assigned times: 4:30 - 6:00 PM
Little Caesar Pizza fundraiser may also pick up items at these times.
If the students in your household have different last names, please try to come at the time assigned for the first letter. (Example: Jones & Smith would come at the time for Jones)
Friday March 20th from 12:00 - 6:00pm - High School
All may pick up during the designated hours.
If you have multiple students at various buildings, we will distribute all at once.
Students will receive a labeled chromebook and parents will be asked to sign for the device.
Also be aware that we have a team of volunteers that are calling each household today to ask two simple questions:
- Do you have access to the Internet or WiFi?
- Do you have a learning device besides a phone?
- If no, how many are needed?
We hope to get an exact number of students that may not have access to the internet and provide them with alternatives or locations to access.
Finally, any 6th grade student that had ordered for the Little Caesar Pizza fundraiser may also pick up their items from 12:00 - 6:00 pm on Thursday March 19th.
Thank you for your cooperation!
