Extended Day Program

The Extended Day (3 O’clock Block) is an after school program for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th graders. Each day, students get free time in the gym, 50 minutes of homework/study help and 50 minutes of a fun enrichment activity. Activities include cooking, crafts, swimming, science projects, and much more. We also go on a variety of field trips throughout the year.

The Extended Day program is held Tuesdays through Thursdays from 2:30-5:10; it will start on September 20th and the 8th graders will start October 18th.   If students owe a teacher work/ are on “ketchup club,” they stay there until 3:25 and then come to Block in the 5th grade classrooms; otherwise, all Block students meet in the gym at 2:30. Students receive a free snack each day. Busing home is provided at 5:10.

St. Lawrence Central Elementary Local Assistance Plan

The elementary school was labeled a "local assistance plan school" for the 2014-2015 academic year as a result of previous years' state test scores.  As a result of this designation, the elementary school was required to do a state prescribed evaluation for a number of areas and then develop a plan based upon this data.
